BACKGROUND & BRIEF

The client shared a site video of the LED banner running existing content and asked:

“Is there anything you can do with this?”

The challenge: design a high-impact facade activation that communicates scale and presence, while improving brand visibility and refreshing the on-property LED banner for clearer, more effective communication.

We were also asked to keep it real—no staging or crowd control—so it would feel like something a passerby could genuinely capture on their phone.

New Paragraph

  • A hyper-real FOOH (Faux Out-of-Home) campaign that visually augmented the LED banner with a black “face screen” extension above it.

  • A content refresh of the LED banner itself for stronger typography, framing, and motion design—delivering clarity and impact without new hardware.

Africa Variant

(Horizontal - for web)

Original concept: a metallic scroll pulled open by a robotic arm, revealing a live 3D map and culminating in a logo “impact.”

Creative pivot (client-aligned): evolve to a cleaner, site-true illusion— the robotic arm mounts a solid black face screen above the banner, creating an Augmented Extension that reads as part of the façade and visually enlarges the display surface. This also supported a street-level realismcapture: ambient traffic, local commuters, motorcycle taxis (habal-habal), and everyday street activity remain in frame to ground the illusion.

  • Captured on location, as-is: Fixed vantage and available light; no set dressing, extras, or street lockdown. Everyday surroundings (commuters, motorcycle taxis, vendors) remain in frame by design to signal authenticity.

  • Photoreal integration: Full match-move of façade and canopy; sun-matched PBR lighting; occlusion/contact shadows; micro-debris and reflections to anchor CG in real-world conditions.

  • Believability over gloss: We preserved natural exposure roll-off, minor traffic movement, and environmental noise, so the FOOH Augmented Extension reads like an authentic, caught-in-the-wild moment.

Ask: Improve clarity and impact using the client’s materials.

Approach:

  • Scaled typography for distance legibility and concise line lengths.

  • Re-framed footage: replaced tiled, multi-window layouts with hero single-subject frames and smart crops to maximize banner height.

  • Depth in a narrow canvas: subtle 3D parallax, tracked light sweeps, and perspective moves for energy without clutter.

  • Motion cadence: short, loopable beats; CTAs timed to high-visibility moments.

  • Site-ready masters: outdoor-balanced grading and brightness/contrast tuning for real-world viewing.

Result: Clearer messages, larger visuals, and a more kinetic read that complements the FOOH Augmented Extension above.

A FOOH Augmented Extension that transforms a narrow LED banner into a façade-level brand moment, paired with a refreshed day-to-day banner loop that reads powerfully at a distance. The work embraces the real environment—so the sophisticated 3D sells precisely because the capture feels raw, plausible, and platform-native. The client received a hero execution and a modular content suite for web and social—delivered using existing on-property hardware.
